The Kapal Kundala Temple is situated at Dariyapur in Contai of East Midnapore. Kapalkundala – the classic novel of Bankim Chandra is based upon the adjoining villages of Dariapur and Daulatpur along with the Rasulpur River. As per the novel, Kapalkundala was found and brought up by a Tantric (Kapalik) who used to carry out his sadhana in the temple. Later Nabakumar found Kapalkundala here.
